From painting to photography, mixed media to mosaic, fibre arts to sculpture, we stage an ambitious calendar of exhibitions for emerging and experienced artists to display their latest artworks.

The mix of solo, small group, themed and open community exhibitions offers variety within the exhibition programme which delights exhibiting artists and gallery patrons alike.

Exhibition opening nights are open to the public and offer a more personal glimpse into the exhibition, with many of the exhibiting artists on hand to share the creative inspiration behind their works.

Gallery entry is free of charge. All purchases support the ongoing programming & activities of our community arts centre and the livelihood of our local artists.

Mission Arts Anniversary Awards Exhibition

Since opening its doors to the community in August 2011, Mission Arts has showcased the works of talented local & regional artists in the annual Mission Arts Anniversary Awards Exhibition. Prized awards, made possible through corporate sponsorships and contributions by local businesses and individuals, are extended to artists in various categories.

Reef Meets the Rainforest
23 October - 17 November


Reef Meets the Rainforest – our backyard brings together three local artists inspired by the unique beauty of the Mission Beach region. Michelle Larsen exhibits fused glass, ceramics, and mixed media. Alina Shaderkova presents beautiful oil paintings. Tracy Stevenson showcases silver clay and mixed medium jewellery. Together, their work celebrates the rich connection between the reef and rainforest.

This exhibition has been sponsored by a RADF grant. The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Cassowary Coast Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.

Open to photographers of all ages and skill levels, this family-friendly community exhibition showcases an array of diverse images from amongst a number of different categories. Colour & Clay Over Time
Artworks by Judy Brady & Hilary Tredgett

This exhibition brings together the work of two local artists who began their creative paths later in life, embracing art as a powerful form of self-discovery and expression.

Judy Brady, a painter, and Hilary Tredgett, a potter, each bring a mature perspective to their practice – one shaped by life experience, curiosity, a love of colour and a deep respect for process. Though working in different mediums, both artists reflect a shared journey: one of growth, experimentation and the joy of creating with intention.

Their works invite us to consider not only the finished piece, but the evolving story behind it – a reminder that it’s never too late to begin, and that creativity is a lifelong unfolding.

Bernard +10 Artists & Artisans

A collaboration of creators. A celebration of art.

Curated by Bernard, this exhibition is a vibrant intersection of vision and craft.  Bernard+10  brings together a hand-picked collective of local talent, showcasing the incredible depth of our creative community. From large-scale paintings to intricate fine art photography, the featured artists explore the beauty of the Australian landscape and the depth of the human experience.

Threads
19 June - 14 July

Threads is a biennial collaborative exhibition showcasing the exquisite creations of our region's talented fibre and textile artists. Works on display feature a variety of techniques and include functional and wearable art as well as decorative and environmentally sustainable statement pieces.
